Readynas Duo RND2150 not working as a NAS
Hi so I'm in the market looking for a basic Nas that works, originally I purchased a Western digital my cloud EX4 which I later found was no longer supported so I cancelled my order, so I recently purchased the Readynas Duo RND2150 which the seller sold as a v2 (later i found it's not that V2 but rather the tiny v2 revision sticker on the back version) anyway it's on 4.1.16 FW and wasn't loading on modern browsers, doing some research I managed to log into it using old version of Firefox portable, after setting everything up, i can access FTP using filezilla by enabling TLS 1.0 1.1 and 1.2 support, I can also add the FTP network location as a storage to show in my computer (windows 10)
I've also enabled SMB1 and enabled TLS 1.0 1.1 1.2 in Windows internet options.
My problem is, I can't access it as a network attached storage device in my networks, it is on the same workgroup (WORKGROUP) it's shows up as a storage Readynas Duo RND2150 but when I click on it, i gets aninterrupted action error.
Is there any way to get this working or is my only option to return it and look for an alternative? My old Asus RT-N66U has usb ports that I was thinking of connecting up some usb HDD but that would likely have a very slow data transfer rate so I thought I should go for a proper NAS.

- Alfred_mannerAspirantIt's a pity, I didn't even know one of the biggest leading brands in networking NETGEAR had left the NAS business.
If I can't get any luck with this, I'll probably just invest in an Synology

It's trying to open your browser, not file explorer.
Try entering \\192.168.1.242 in the file explorer address bar (being careful to use the correct slash). That should show you the list of shares. If/when you are prompted for credentials, make sure you enter credential for a user account that is set up on the NAS. (Admin will work, but generally it is better to set up a different user account).
- Alfred_mannerAspirantTried that and I get a Windows can't find \\192.168.1.242 check the spelling and try again. Error :'(

In any event, Netgear discontinued your NAS back in November 2011, so it is at least 12 years old. It was a good NAS its day, but that was a long time ago. The transfer speed for large files is around 20 MB/s, so about what you'd expect from a USB-2 drive. So if you are looking for good performance, you probably should get a current NAS instead.
Note the v2 you thought you were getting was discontinued in 2013, so it would also be outdated.
