ReadyNas Duo v1 "Dead"?
So we had a powercut and my Readynas Duo v1, when it came back on, decided both drives were dead, so I've replaced the drives with ones that came out of my Duo v2 and now, in Raidar, it has a yellow light on the far left and a yellow light on Vol. Disk which the hovver tip says "Volume C: Raid Level X, Dead; 766 MB (0%) of 1848 MB used" Both drives are green lights (Seagate ST2000DM001).
In Front view in Volume settings it says "Ch 1 : Seagate ST2000DM001-1CH164 [1862 GB] 0 MB free"
I've done a OS Reinstall to try and wipe and format the disks and a memory check and the RAM has checked out.
Any ideas on what I should do next? All the drives that have come out of the readynas are readable through disk utility in max os.

- Did you try an OS reinstall or a factory default? The OS reinstall doesn't wipe the disks.
- machvAspirantan OS reinstall. All the documentation I've read advises not to do a Factory Boot. Should I?
If your goal is to wipe the drives, the only option is a factory reset.machv wrote: an OS reinstall. All the documentation I've read advises not to do a Factory Boot. Should I? - machvAspirantOk I'll give it a shot - thanks! :)
- machvAspirantSo I restarted the readynas on tuesday night, holding down the powerbutton until the second flash and released it. The LED pattern is rapid flash on the power and a steady light on disk/bay one and it's been like that for 36 hours. The LED pattern looks like the first stage RAM test, not a factory reset (which iirc is rapid flash power and all others static?)
Readynas is not viewable via raidar.
One thing that didn't seem right to me was, when powering it on with the power button held down, the second flash seemed to be a lot quicker than the 30 seconds.
Could it be doing the TFTP server boot?? - The correct procedure is here: http://www.readynas.com/download/docume ... 6Dec11.pdf (pages 15-16). You need the paper-clip method, not just holding down the power button.

Thanks Stephen - it had gone into TFTP server mode. I was misreading the wording on the LED sheet.
I've powered it off (ungraciously), done the reset button for 30 seconds and powered back on. It's now appeared on Raidar allowed me to select set up. So it's recreating the volume as XRAID now.
Thanks for your help.
