Readynas duo v2 RND 2110-200EUS - Set up
Hi,
I'm sorry if this seems a simple question, but I have a duo v2 as a back up. Since up grading to windows 10 the backups are failing. I am confused about "shares" and "backups". I only want to use it to back up. Please explain it to me!

Are you using the built-in windows backup? If not, what are you using?

Hi,
Using built in backup in windows 10.

Ok. And this was previously working?
The backup program (windows backup in this case) is writing to a network share on the NAS. This network share is a folder on the NAS that is set up to be accessible to PCs and other devices (tablets, etc) on your local network.
Can you find the name of this target folder? It should have the form \\nasname\sharename.
One thing to try is to enter the windows credential manager, and create windows credentials for both the NAS hostname and the NAS IP address. The username and password should be for an account on the NAS. "admin" should work (though it depends in part on the target folder).
