It appears like it. If performance on wired was poor, it may have been hardware-related (bad disk, bad NIC, bad chassis, etc.) but the NAS performs as expected, which is a good sign.
Next steps:
1. Check Frontview > Network > Interfaces > Show Errors and post the results:
Network Errors [Ethernet 1+2]
TX packets 3064838
TX errors 0
TX dropped 0
TX overruns 0
TX carrier 0
RX packets 2044427
RX errors 0
RX dropped 0
RX overruns 0
RX frame 0
Collisions 0
2. Double-check MTU settings:
- NAS should be 1500 (reboot NAS just to be sure)
- Vista/Win7 wireless devices should be 1430
Here's what kind of performance to expect for various types of connections: http://home.bott.ca/webserver/?p=363. You should get 2-3 MB/s for wireless G.
3. If performance is still poor on wifi, try changing ReadyNAS MTU to 1492.
4. If you can, I would recommend borrowing another wifi router to rule out the router as the source of the problem.
