ReadyNAS NV+ Raid Version
I'm using a software called ReClaiMe RAID Recovery to attempt to recover my RAID configuration and just wanted to know if there is a way to determine what RAID level is used.
I found this article and it seems like it would be either RAID 1 or RAID 5:
https://kb.netgear.com/21049/What-RAID-levels-are-supported-by-my-Duo-v2-or-NV-v2
The ReadyNAS that I got in 2008 had 2 drives in it until this year. I bought two more drives, bringing the total to 4 drives. Since there were ultimately 4 drives installed, does this mean that it was using RAID 5?

You are asking about an NV+, but pointed to an article regarding the NV+V2. Since they use different formats, we need to figure out which you have. If you unit is silver and has an internal power supply, it's the original NV+ (even if it has a sticker that says "V2" or even "V3). That uses RAID4, which is similar to RAID5 but has a dedicated parity drive instead of spreading the parity blocks across the drive set. The NV+V2 is black and has an external power brick, and it would be RAID5 for 4 drives.
ReclaiME is typically overkill/overpriced for those models. R-Studio for Windows should work.
But what are you recovering from? NAS failure? Bad drives? Other volume related problem?

There are a couple of other differences also-
- An NV+ runs 4.1.x firmware; the NV+ v2 runs 5.3.x firmware
- An NV+ says "NV+" on the front panel (but might have other labels on the back). The NV+ v2 says "NV+ v2" on the front panel.
- The NV+ v2 started shipping in late 2011
If you purchased in 2008, then you must have an NV+.

ReclaiMe RAID recovery (which is free) is very different from ReclaiMe File Recovery (which costs about $200 USD for the version you'd need). The RAID recovery software just tries to figure out your RAID parameters - it doesn't recover any data. So it likely is the wrong package for you.
If you haven't purchased ReclaiMe File Recovery yet, then I suggest switching to R-Studio for Windows (which is about 1/3 the price). You'd need the $79.99 version (USD pricing), which should be the second from the left on the purchase page ( https://www.r-studio.com/Buy-Data-Recovery-Software.html ).
Note that (like ReclaiMe) you can download the software w/o paying, so you can see if it can recovery any data before purchase. But you will need to purchase it before you can recover.

It would be helpful to know more about the underlying problem.

It is an NV+, sorry for the confusion.
I posted a discussion a couple months ago. Basically what happened was I was unable to access the NAS through File Explorer and tried enabling FTP. That's when it said "No Shares Detected" so it seems like the RAID configuration was lost.
I tried running ReClaiMe File Recovery (free version) and they had suggested their RAID recovery software to recover the RAID configuration since it did not show the files I was looking for. I will try R-studio - appreciate the recommendation.
