ReadyNAS NV+ RND4425-100EUS
We have 2014 (apx) Ready/NAS NV+ drive with Model No. RND4425-100EUS shown on the device sticker.
The serial number only has 12 digits and two dashes so the Netgear website won't recognize it.
We were able to apparently access the drive login page using the IP address on our browser (Safari), but the default passwords from the Netgear website (admin/password) do not work and we have no record of any other passwords or logins.
We need to access the drive control page to re-assign the protocol to SMB so we can set up the Roon music system.
Any ideas on how we can access the control page for this older ReadyNAS drive are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Guy

In reading further posts, it is clear that we have a Ready/NAS drive Version 1 that is well older than 2014!
Still need to figure out how to access the control page with no serial number.

The NAS you have is called the NV+ v1 here. The default admin password is netgear1 (not password).
(This is assuming the -100EUS is typed correctly). If your NAS says ReadyNAS NV+ v2 on the front panel, please post back)..
It is a very old design - Netgear stopped making them in 2011, and they've been end-of-life since 2017.
Current browsers won't let you access the NAS because it doesn't support TLS 1.2 (which current browsers require). You can work around that with FireFox (but not Safari). Set security.tls.version.min to 1 (browse to about:config and search for the setting).
Note you need to browse to https://nas-ip-address/admin (using the real IP address of course).
If you aren't using the default password, you can reset it by doing an OS reinstall from the boot menu. Use the instructions on page 23 and 24 here:
This will reset the admin password back to netgear1. It is data-safe.

SMB normally would already be enabled. But your NAS only supports SMB/CIFS 1.0. That is no longer considered secure, and current MacOS systems won't be able to access the shares because Apple has removed support for SMB 1.0.
You should consider enabling FTP on the NAS and then use an FTP client to off-load all the data. Then put the music on a USB disk (or other storage). Note Netgear has exited the NAS business, so if you want a modern NAS you will need to go with another vendor.
