ReadyNAS NV+ V1 Not powering on

Hi Netgear Community,

I have a Ready NAS that just quit working on me. I have reasearched online and it seems the PSU is out. This unit is obviously old, but it was working with no problems. I was wondering if I can send it somewhere and have it fix, or maybe just get the PSU and replace it myself. I even disconnected the Cr2023 Battery as suggested in another forum, but I had no luck.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks,

It is possible to replace it, but if you use an off-the-shelf supply you need to make a modification in the cable.  I've attached a pdf showing the wiring.

There are a couple out there on ebay and other sites that already have the wiring change (at least the sellers say they do).  The Netgear part was RND4PSU1-10000S (part number was 332-10384-01).

If you have decided that it6's time to upgrade, anyway, you can also make an adapter cable to go from a standard ATX supply to the NAS, swapping/removing pins per the drawing StephenB attached.  You can mount that externally and allow you to download the files to your new NAS or a backup device.  Just use masking tape or similar to cover the gap the cable runs through in the back so as to keep the airflow right for the drives.
