ReadyNAS NV+ v2 main fan replacement
Hello,
The main system fan in my ReadyNAS NV+ v2 has started to make a loud buzzing/whine recently, so I'd like to replace it. The current (fan) unit is made by Y.S. Tech (identical models are available on eBay from China), but I've seen other people talking about the Noctua NF-B9
However the dimensions of the Y.S. Tech fan (90 * 90 * 25mm according to this eBay listing) are slightly different from the Noctua (92 * 92 * 25mm), and I'm concerned about possible mounting issues with screws not lining up.
I'd just get another Y.S. Tech mode, but it looks like a two week to one month wait on delivery, whereas I can get a Noctua in a few days (which would probably be quieter too).
Can anyone advise me about whether this Noctua model would be a good for my ReadyNAS? Thank you.
I did a bit of googling on this and both fans appear to have the mounting holes at 82.5mm centres, so you should be OK

I just wanted to add a short addendum to this which might serve as a precautionary note for others (something I've belatedly realsed in retrospect). Immediately before the fan noise began, I dismanted the unit to clear it of accumulated dust. I sprayed the whole case liberally with compressed air, including the fan - which span up to an enormously rapid rotation rate. In my ignorance I hadn't appreciated that I could inflict damage this way, but that's clearly what happened; I overburdened the fan assembly. It may well have gone on to give many more years of service otherwise.
