1. You can mount the array on a linux system.
2. If you are going to buy a new readynas, I believe Netgear may be able to help you to migrate your data onto the new system.
Of course if Netgear give you a new Nv+, you can put the drives into the new unit - ensuring that you first set it up with new firmware.
Edit: I see you have another thread open relating to this and received the same advice, you cannot just put the disks in and you will lose data if you do. Contact Netgear and follow their advice.
