ReadyNas NVX Power Supply #24307644
Hi all,
The PSU on one of my three ReadyNAS seems to have died overnight.
Its an NVX model (Netgear portal lists it as ReadyNAS RNDX4000)
How can I go about getting a replacement for this? Is there a parts code anywhere to help me source a supplier?
Im also reading past threads which suggest some models have to have the whole chassis replaced if the PSU fails
Is the NVX one of them?
Thanks

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes, the chassis will need to be replaced. The NVX has a 5 year warranty and it appears all of your units were purchased in 2010 and are still under warranty.
- carpiiTutorAwesome, thanks. I had no idea they were still in warranty
I will open a support ticket - carpiiTutorMight be a dumb question.. but if I power down my identical ReadyNAS and replace all 4 drives, will it just boot up in blissful ignorance that the drives have been changed?
Wondering if it stores any HD id's in the eprom or something, that would make it want to start replicating - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes you can migrate the disks from the NVX or even e.g. to a Pro 4. I wouldn't migrate the other way from the Pro 4 to a NVX however.
Best to make sure the replacement NAS has at least as new firmware on it as what the old unit had first. Best to keep the drive order the same. - carpiiTutorMy 2nd NAS is just a backup mirror, so I tend to upgrade that firmware first
Then after a week or two I update my main NAS (the one which has gone pop).
Ill try as you suggest, thankyou - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredOur support agent has asked some questions to confirm the PSU has failed.
- carpiiTutorThanks, the portal notification has just come through
