[ReadyNAS NVX] Upgrade HDs to 3 TB
As my Netgear ReadyNAS NVX Business Edition is nearing maximum capacity, I'm planning to upgrade the HDs to a larger capacity model. Current setup: 4x Western Digital RE3 Enterprise Edition 1 TB...

All is clear. I already have the replacement drives, so I should be good to go.
However, you gave me one thing to ponder about... (you mentioned the various advantages).
Do a complete external backup first, then replace all the drives in one go, and restore the external backup to the NVX.
This requires another investment though... (but prices are sweet...).
Question:
Most external drives are USB 3.0 now. This is backward compatible with USB 2.0, so I should be able to connect the external drive to the NVX and use the Integrated Backup Manager. Correct?
