Readynas or Buffalo? - URGENT
Hi,
Why would you buy a Readynas Ultra 4 over the Buffalo Technology LinkStation
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Buffalo-Linksta ... 243&sr=8-4
Maybe a simple answer - please let me know ASAP.
I already ahve a NAS my customer is thinking Buffalo for his small office - as its cheaper and comes with disks.
Thanks in advance.

- samukAspirantLittle confused:
why the price difference?

Is the Plus better?

which of the 3 should we go for? - dbott67GuideThe one for 193.99 is diskless, while the one for 309.99 includes a 2TB disk. The hardware specs are exactly the same otherwise.
The Ultra+ has a faster dual-core CPU, where as the Ultra is single core: http://home.bott.ca/webserver/?p=499
Check this page to see the performance difference: http://www.readynas.com/?page_id=3962#Performance
The Ultra and Ultra+ have pretty close to the same READ speeds, but the + version has much faster WRITE speeds when using jumbo frames. - PapaBear1ApprenticeIf the Ultra 2 Plus is only 7 pounds more than the Ultra 2 - For that difference I would think it is worth it. However, they do not give the full model number so it is hard to tell. Looking at the site that is linked to the listing on Amazon for that unit, they want 287+ pounds for a diskless Ultra 2 Plus and do not show one with disks installed. I am of the opinion that the Ultra 2 Plus for 316 Pounds is without disks.
You need to watch the model numbers.
