ReadyNAS Pro 4 (RNDP4000) Smb crash after upgrading to latest version

Upgraded my ReadyNas to the latest firmware yesterday.  The unit hung on first reboot but after waiting an hour, power cycled it and it finished installing the upgrade and booted.  All good until this morning.

One of the folders in our samba share won't open, Windows claims the folder is inaccessible.  If I look at the smb logs, I see many segfaults, triggered whenever this folder is tried to be accessed.

  • Do you have ssh enabled on the NAS?

When you say "latest firmware" - do you mean 4.2.31?  Or have you converted this NAS to run OS-6?

Sorry, your correct.  This NAS has been converted to 6.x a long time ago.

I suggest going in with ssh, and see if you can navigate into the problem folder.

Maybe also look in the logs for any btrfs or disk errors around the time of the SMB crash.
