Ok, so I found out the model is a RNDX4250-100NAS. It originally had 2 -500Gb drives, then a 2Tb drive was added to the X-RAID2. However as I expected the latter 1.5Tb is unused since a second large drive was never added. I've tried every combination of 64Kb stripe and ruled that out. Perhaps it is 16Kb.
