That's not how you do a USB recovery. The reset button isn't used for that. See How-do-I-use-the-USB-Recovery-Tool-on-my-ReadyNAS-OS-6-storage-system But try what StephenB suggested without the drives first. If that works, then USB recovery is not what you need.
