ReadyNAS setup and use newbie
Hi there, I'm looking for some help setting up my ReadyNas and linking it with my readycloud etc. I've followed a few threads and appear to have the thing turned out, discovered and visible in t...

Hello owoodruff,
Connecting to the ReadyNAS via ReadyCloud needs ReadyCloud desktop app/client and not through finder.
ReadyCloud user accounts are different from ReadyNAS local users. The main ReadyCloud user account that has the admin rights is the one you entered in the admin page of the NAS, this is the ReadyCloud user account that you will need to use when adding/inviting users via readycloud.netgear.com.

When in Admin, I can't seem to set up a new user and it doesn't allow me to change the toggle to switch on ReadyCloud in the 'Cloud' area? When I try to do it, it comes up with 'Registration Error.' I've tried to link the Remote access with what appears to be success - hence the ability to access it from my work PC and it shows me as a user in the Admin section, but struggling with the Cloud setup. I have a feeling it's something to do with the Firewall, but I'm a little computer illiterate in all honesty!
Can you post a screenshot of what you get when turning on the ReadyCloud under Cloud of the admin page?
Also, what is the authentication type set under Accounts > Authentication?

Hi there,
Many thanks for your reply. I have figured out how to download the App for the desktop - was looking on iTunes and then spotted it in the ReadyCloud page itself...! I've downloaded it and linked it to my NAS box, however it shows the box 'offline' even when it's on.
I also cannot still turn on the ReadyCloud within the Admin page - Registration Error still. I've added a couple of screenshots below.
I have a feeling it might be something to do with my firewall within my router...?...but I don't know where to start with that. I'm not sure why it would be linked to Gmail. Can you enlighten me on that? Sorry, as you can see I'm rather inept at dealing with computers - the reason I bought a MAC in the first place!
...Actually I don't even know how to add a screenshot!!! Any help on that? :smileysad:

There's an image icon in the toolbar. Click on that, and you can browse to a file on your PC.

Thanks...working on a MAC so it would appear to be a little different. There is an insert image button, but then it asks for 'Source' with no search option and 'image name' once again with no search option. Jeez I feel stupid. Believe it or not I'm an Engineer - give me steel and concrete any day!

You could try downloading the chrome browser, and see if that gives you a different look.
