ReadyNAS setup and use newbie
Hi there, I'm looking for some help setting up my ReadyNas and linking it with my readycloud etc. I've followed a few threads and appear to have the thing turned out, discovered and visible in t...

Hi there,
Many thanks for your reply. I have figured out how to download the App for the desktop - was looking on iTunes and then spotted it in the ReadyCloud page itself...! I've downloaded it and linked it to my NAS box, however it shows the box 'offline' even when it's on.
I also cannot still turn on the ReadyCloud within the Admin page - Registration Error still. I've added a couple of screenshots below.
I have a feeling it might be something to do with my firewall within my router...?...but I don't know where to start with that. I'm not sure why it would be linked to Gmail. Can you enlighten me on that? Sorry, as you can see I'm rather inept at dealing with computers - the reason I bought a MAC in the first place!
...Actually I don't even know how to add a screenshot!!! Any help on that? :smileysad:

There's an image icon in the toolbar. Click on that, and you can browse to a file on your PC.

Thanks...working on a MAC so it would appear to be a little different. There is an insert image button, but then it asks for 'Source' with no search option and 'image name' once again with no search option. Jeez I feel stupid. Believe it or not I'm an Engineer - give me steel and concrete any day!

You could try downloading the chrome browser, and see if that gives you a different look.

(sorry been abroad for a couple of weeks)
Hi there, success. It appears that using Internet Explorer at work and after signing into my Readynas community profile I got the search option - snapshot added below...
At present I can see the readyNas in the ReadyCloud, but it is shown as 'offline.' However I now can't see the NAS box in the 'Discover' section where it was shown before. When I press backup and retry nothing appears. So I can't get into the Admin section...! (However I have a feeling this might have something to do with the Wifi range extender I added to the router over the weekend).
I have downloaded the ReadyCloud App for OS and that has installed, but it can't locate the NAS box saying it's offline. I had altered the power settings whilst in the Admin to save power (and noise) during standby periods and wondered if that meant that it wouldn't power up when trying to log on externally???
