ReadyNAS Ultra 2 Plus can't find on Raidar/network

I have sent you a PM.

The firmware on the flash was indeed corrupt. This problem is only seen in some cases when doing a factory default.

Your system had no data on it and should be fixed now and doing another factory default.

I have most likely the same problem with my Ultra 2. It started when I took out the two 1TB disks (WD Red) that were already in for a few years and when I plugged in a brand new WD RED 4TB disk. Disk and memory test seems perfectly fine. I did a factory default and initiated via RIADar the setup of the 4TB disk (X-raid2). After in RIADar the 100% is reached, the NAS becomes unable to find via RAIDar.

I still had one of the 1TB drives,and it worked fine when I put it back in. But performing a factory default (and build X-Raid2) with this 1TB disk also didn't succeed. I also tried another new 1TB disk (WD red) from work, and also with this disk I couldn't get the Ultra 2 to work again.  So, on several forums I found that this was most likely due to a corrupt flash???

I tried via a Netgear USB recovery tool to flash RAIDiator-x86-4.2.28 again on the NAS, but without success. I started looking further on the web and come upon this discussion. The only time I can see the NAS via RAIDar is after factory default and for the few minutes I can observe the NAS also no firmware is noted. If I use a network discovery tool (like Fing on Andriod) I can see that the IP adress is unchanged, but opening the admin page via the webbrowser is not possible.

Please help me as well. I have a ReadyNAS Ultra 2, that will not boot. When I do factory reset, with one disk - it shows in the Raidar. Once I choose disk options, nothing more happends. 

I can find the device on the network (ping), but not in the browser or raidar.

What firmware is on the NAS?  Have you tested the disk in a PC with the vendor tools? (Seatools for Seagate, Lifeguard for Western Digital).

It was upgraded to the latest version for x86, 4.2.28. No, I have not tried the disks - but they did work before I did a factory reset (i wanted a clean install).

Can anyone provide a guide for usb-flash the firmware or similar?
