Dear sir,
When after the readycloud service terminated, we have problem with local user account in which cannot access some of the folder created before July 1.
On the other hand, the cloud user cannot access folder created after july 1.
Any advice ?
BTW, regarding to the folder access granting , does it manage by readycloud access rights or window folder access rights?
Many thanks!

ReadyCloud is shut down, so there are no ReadyCloud access rights.
If you are meaning whether it uses network permissions or file permissions, then the answer is that you need both permissions. I generally recommend setting the file permissions to "everyone" and then use only network permissions to restrict access.

I suggest not using the cloud accounts anymore.
Are you talking about read access? write access? Or both?
Start by going into the file access tab for the share (in the admin web ui), and then
- check the box next to "grant rename and delete privileges" and then click apply
- set all the user/groups you can (including Everyone) to "read/write" and then click apply.
- select "default access" and uncheck the box next to "specify permission" and then click apply.
- select "reset" from left side of the screen, and then "reset permissions"
(4) will reset the file permissions in the background, and give you a notification when it completes.

Hi Stephen,
If I need to remove the cloud user to local user, do I need to reset all the (previously created) folder resetting the access rights? Or shoudl I simplfy re-create a new folder so that the new local user woudl able to access? Any recommendation ?
Many thanks
Paul

Add the local users and do a permissions reset.
Unfortunately, that won't work for user home folders. So if you have any of those, you'll need to move the files using the admin account. If you are comfortable using the command line via SSH, it's easier there.

thanks Sandshark.
As for the permission reset, Do u mean we have to assign access rights one by one to each local user?

No, you can apply the permissions to the entire user group with one setting.
Note there are both network permissions and file permissions. Generally you can set up the file permissions to allow everyone read/write access, and just use network permissions to restrict access to shares.

The file permissions are what usually causes issues when you add a user (thus requiring the reset), which is one reason StephenB is recommending using just network permissions. If you add a user or group to an existing share's file permissions, they won't get permission to existing files and folders in it until you do the reset. If they are already a member of a group that has access, such as everyone, then it's not necessary. If you use any protocol other than SMB, using just network permissions can be an issue, however. NFS, for example, does not have user network permissions.
The permissions reset is for all users and groups. So if you do use user-level file permissions (not just allowing everyone), add all users and groups (putting all the users in one new group can be a quick solution), give them permission, then do the file permissions reset. You do need to do that for every share.
