Recommendation external enclosure with WD 3TB red..?
Hi there, I want to backup my Readynas to an external HD and therefore want to use an WD red 3TB (as it is compatible to the Readynas for maybe later upgrades) within an external USB3.0 enclosure. ...
Is your readynas model certified for 3Tb disks ? If it doesn't support them in inside bays, it's likely it won't support them with USB.

Did you try to plug the WD with USB on another device like a computer ?
