Yes. My NV+ v1 is the backup destination for several shares saved on my Pro-6 (using rsync). I have used frontview backup to copy shares from my RN102 to my Duo v1 as well (again using rsync).

File owner/groups might not line up properly, since OS6 uses different UID/GID ranges from the NV+. admin/admin matches, but nothing else does (including nobody/nogroup).
Also, if you go with OS6, if you make the snapshots accessible to the users you need to exclude the snapshot folder from the backup.
