RN 104 two IPs
Can I assing a stacit IP to each nic and access each ip?
OK, I'm not sure which VPN software you are using, but if it's SoftEther (which is what the VPN Server App by Poussin is) as a bridge, then you do not want an IP address assigned to that port at all. Disable both IPV4 and IPV6 protocols. See here, also: Softether VPN + ReadyNAS — a better solution for full access to network AND the NAS itself.

Yes, but there is no guarantee that the response will come from the same NIC. It is also recommended you use address reservation in the router rather than, or in addition to, a static IP in the NAS to insure there is no IP conflict created.
If your intent is to keep certain traffic on one NIC, there is a suggestion in the Idea Exchange regarding that, and you could give it a thumbs up to help convince Netgear to implement it.
If the goal is to increase performance, then don't bother trying to set up 2 NICs - it won't. The RN104's performance is limited by it's CPU, not the network.

The goal is to NAT one IP for the VPN software and leave the other internal only.

Hi Freebird317,
As far as I know, you should be able to assign different IP addresses in each NIC.

As noted above, normally that isn't how VPN software is set up (though some VPN hardware devices might need it).
What VPN software are you talking about? Is it installed in the NAS or somewhere else on the network?
