RN Ultra 6 - System Temp
Hi all, I have a ReadyNas Ultra 6 with 6 x 4TB WD Red HDD's and all working fine for a couple of years now and running on OS 6.10.5 Hotfix 1. Over the last few weeks I have noticed that the NAS ...

Just a slight sidenote - in message 2 of 16 we touched on the HDD's and WD Red's where you have stated that the 4TB WD RED Plus is the new WD RED FRX type of drive.
I have been looking at replacing or getting additional WD RED 4TB drives but anywhere I have gone is shoiwng WD RED Plus 4TB as FZX - would this do for NAS ?
Also in the NAS we are discussing which have Enterprise Drives - Should I continie with these in this NAS or can we mix - would think not to mix ?
Last night (my time) I was watching a movie on Plex which is on this NAS and it lost connection (the server went offline for about 5 mins before it brought it all back. To me it would definitely suggest that one of the 4TB Enterprise drives are having issues if not more than one - so maybe not to stress it by carrying out disk test and just go with defrag or balance etc first to see if this improves the performance.

Those Red Plus are fine -- they are still CMR.
The NAS will warn you about mixing drive speeds. Back in RAIDiator 4.2.x, I had some issues with drive types that spun up at different speeds, but I have seen nothing here where anyone has had a similar issue with OS6.
Will different vibration frequecies resulting from differnet spindle speeds shorten life? I think the jury is out on that.
