RN104 unable to login or reinstall OS. Have updated firmware (6.10.1) using USB recovery
Ok so currently my NAS is working in the sense I can access it as my network drive, however I am unable to login to the administrator page as my admin password for some reason no longer works. I certainly haven't changed it while drunk or something as it is saved to my google account.
Passwork recovery just comes up as failed and I have attempted to reinstall the OS according to the manual, hold reset and cycle options using the backup button but yet like so many others it seems (from google search results) my only option is normal boot.
I reinstalled the OS using the USB recovery method and that was successful as I am now on 6.10.1 which I can see using RAIDar but still I am unable to login (using the default admin/password) nor am I able to reinstall the OS as per the reset button method still.
Am I missing something obvious here?
cheers, Lee

How are you accessing the NAS? By IP or thru ReadyCloud? Have you checked if a different browser will let you log in on the Admin page? Clearing cache would be useful too. OS Reinstall should have reset the password do default which is "password".
If you don't have any data on the NAS then a Factory reset might be fit to perform but doing USB Recovery should have helped as well.
Please let me know if clearing the cache and using a different browser worked and if it still has the same issue kindly send me link to download your NAS logs.

Hi Marc,
I am accessing via its IP (mapped as a network drive) but I can also access it via readycloud.
Cleared browser cache and just tried with a different browser (firefox) same issue. I input admin/password and then it just prompts me to submit login details again.
Not sure about what you mean regarding a link to download my logs, I must be missing something here because even I can't download them? RAIDar is prompting me for login details to download the logs and with no access to the admin page that's ruled out as well.

Thank you for the message, getting the free space of the data or OS volume lower than 20% causes NAS performance degradation and this can possibly be the cause why you are experiencing the issue. As you have mentioned you can transfer the files to an external HDD to free up space and also perform volume maintenance on the NAS if you get access on the NAS after freeing up space.
Please see https://kb.netgear.com/26638/ReadyNAS-OS-6-How-to-Enable-and-Configure-Volume-Maintenance on configuring and scheduling maintenance tasks.
