RN204 - Internal fan running at 4600 RPM, continuously. #26555287
I have a RN204 with an issue with the fan. I have watched and read a few discussions online with the overview and set up of different ReadyNAS devices. I am assuming this is incorrect. The fan is running a constant 4600 RMP, the CPU shows its running at 34 degrees C and this is in reference to the performance tab from the ADMIN page. Overall the fan runs continuously whether it is powered up or in the off condition. This product is brand new and was setup per the included support material. I am running Firmware version 6.4.2 and currently has 2 each, 3 TB WD Red hard drives (model WD30EFRX) installed. What I have done so far: -updated the firmware 2 times automatically then manually. -restored to factory settings -reseated all the drives -reset the NAS via the reset switch on the back of the unit. At this point I do not know what to do. I have emailed Netgear, but thought I would give the Community a try as well. Any information you could provide would be helpful. - An update to the tread. Amazon was able to send a replacement NAS and the new item works like its suppose to. I am in the process of returning the defective NAS to Amazon per their instructions. Thank you for all your assistance regarding my issue and looking forward to testing the boundaries with the new NAS. Kevin
