RN212 Disc Compatibility causing ATA Errors?
I recently upgraded my HDD to WDC WD101EFBX-68B0AN from WDC WD40EFRX-68N32N0 which have served me well for 5+ years. I am running RAID 1 with the RN212.
These new 10TB are not explicitly on the RN212 compatibility list, and since installing (12/1) I have had increasing ATA error counts at approximately the same rate for each drive [20 & 18] . SMART extended disk tests show healthy drives. So are my ATA error counts a result of compatibility issues, issues with my chassis, or bad disks? Any thoughts or recommendations to improve (I've tried reseating the drives)? Wondering if I need to replace HDD within the 30 day window (ends 12/25) from the online retailer.

Most likely one of the disks. Hard to know which one though - in the case of ATA errors, one drive can hang the bus, creating an error attributed to the other drive.
You could try running the disk test from the volume settings wheel.
FWIW, my RN202 has a WD140EFGX and a ST14000NM001G in jbod, and they have no ATA errors. Neither are on the HCL. Netgear has always been a bit slow to keep it up to date.
