RN214 is no longer accessible on my local home net

I've had my rn214 about a year without incident. Recently, the nas became inaccessible from any machine on my local home network. This includes (3) Windows 10, (1) Windows 7 and (1) XP machine. RAIDar didn't find any nas's on the network. I checked the IP address on the nas and it had changed from the 192.168. usual ip to a 169.254. I tried rebooting the nas, both the regular and the (restore OS). AT&T found they needed to replace the router (5268AC Pace), which I did. No help. I rebooted the router, then factory reset it without success.

One "how to" I tried involved hooking a laptop directly to the nas via NIC, changing the PC ip to a 169.254.. then running RAIDar. RAIDar still didn't detect an nas.I didn't get the precise OS level or firmware while it was accessible. The OS was 6, I believe.

Can anyone suggest a way to get this rn214 back on the net?

Thanks

    Welcome to the Community!

Have you checked if the NAS is booting up completely? Do you have any errors on the LCD screen?

Do you have your Network router working again? You may want to reconnect the NAS and Computer back to the Network and see if the NAS will be able to get a new IP address.

Kindly check as well if the NAS Ethernet port does get activity, trying the second Ethernet port might help as well. RAIDar should detect the NAS and provide the status and let you access it.

If you still don't have your router, connecting your PC to the NAS without setting up any static IP would do, RAIDar should detect the NAS on 169 IP since those are APIPA. The IPs are assigned automatically if no DHCP servers are detected.

If you still can't detect or access the NAS after the steps, try to boot the NAS on Read only mode to check if it will be accessible. Otherwise, contacting Support is advisable if you need it to be replaced or to have it working.

What LED status are you seeing on the ethernet LED on the NAS (and router LAN port)?

Thanks for the reply - on the readynas I get (1) flashing green led and (1) steady green. It's connected to a switch which is directly connected to the router. Connection on switch is flashing green.
