RN314 Capacity upgrade failure (Message "unfreeze_partials.isra.75+4d")
Dear Community,
RN314 running OS 6.6
Had 4*2TB drives moving to 4*6TB drives on HCL.
First three drives upgraded successfully, will include my notes below.
Fourth drive appears to have completed the rebuild phase (drive number flashing... messgae says Degraded->Redundant .. drive number no longer flashing) but did not indicate the second Resync (to vertical expand?)
On returning to the site I note "unfreeze_partials.isra.75+4d" on the device display.
Initial attempts to view the admin gui page were successful and the Overview status indicated "Healthy"
The volumes tab only showd the "busy spinner".
SSH works: top, ls, ps, cd commands work... can view log files
however disk status commands like df and btrfs hang.
Other devices on the hetwork can access the shares.
After some short time, reinvoking the admin page shows only the splash screen, timeout, then try to load the "admin" page. Get "ReadyNAS Admion Page is offline."
I am looking for guidance. I hesitate just to reboot hoping someone more experienced might be able to further information gathering.
My notes and log excerpts follow:

I do NOT understand the 2:44:43 Resync starting.
Also capacity figures are:
Data 3.47Tb
Snapshots 231.45 Gb
Free 5.38Tb
At 08:10 all four green lights are on solid for the four drives.
Overview page shows "Healthy, resyncing"
I didn't think I would get more free space until all four drives were replaced.
Time will tell.
The data icon on the overview page says 5.38Tb of 9.08 Tb
Status window on the Volumes tab of System page says:
Resyncing in progress 85.12% complete
Remaining time 1:50:06
I returned to find the sync was complete
Log:

Tue Dec 20 2016 12:00:08 Volume: Volume data health changed from Redundant to Degraded.
Tue Dec 20 2016 11:59:50 isk: Disk Model:TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 Serial:Y3OT4XSGS was removed from Channel 2 of the head unit.
Once again as with the second drive replacement, after the first sync is done, and the array moves from Degraded back to Redundant, a second sync takes place (to make the new extra space usable??)
After the second resync the capacity sizes are:
Data 3.47Tb
Snapshots 231.45Gb
Free 9.02Tb
Removed drive 1 (right unit) was Toshiba DT01ACA200 SN Y30SWMSGS
WD Red WD6002RRWX SN K1GT6BGD

Wed Dec 21 2016 14:09:32 Volume: Volume data health changed from Redundant to Degraded.
Wed Dec 21 2016 14:09:26 Disk: Disk Model:TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 Serial:Y3OSWMSGS was removed from Channel 1 of the head unit.
Returned to find log message showing change from Degraded to Redundant.
But no second resync started.
Machine display shows "unfreeze partials.isra.74+4d"
All four disk device lights on solid.
Overview shows Status: Healthy
Volumes tab: just shows wait spinner
Performance tab shows believable numbers for all catagories except utilization which is blank.
As I tried more things the admin page access only shows the splash screen.
SSH access still works, and other devices can still see the shares.

Thanks.
After a "reshape" kicked off by mdgm, the expected space is now available.
Case closed.
Thanks to JeenC, FramerV and especially mdgm.

Hello alfb,
Have you already tried getting to support team? I checked your profile and found that you have no registered Netgear product yet. If you can register it and contact support that might help you as they would have your case escalated to higher tier to get this volume expansion problem fixed from the backend.
Welcome to the community!

Thanks for your reply JennC.
I've had the RN314 since 2014, and I did in fact register it at the time. I've not corresponded since this attempt to upgrade the storage capacity.
I suppose this question should have been posted somewhere other that "New to ReadyNAS" but that's where it ended up.
Anyway, I no longer can get GUI access to the admin pages, and SSH does not respond any more so even expert guidance probably won't be able to do much for me.
There is still the somewhat regular sound of disks seeking so I am letting it run in hopes that it is finishing the vertical expansion before rebooting it.
Thanks for your interest.
Regards, Alf

Hello alfb,
Can you PM me the SN?
If you can access the shares via Windows explorer or CIFS/SMB, try backing up important data if you haven't.
