RN314 mount_block_root+1f1 and cannot access the boot menu
Hi.
My system is RN314 with 4x6TB HDD and was working fine for more than a year now. The firmware was updated several times in the past with no issues.
Yesterday I updated my system to new firmware (the latest one) can't recall the version.
After updating it the system shows mount_block_root+1f1
Tried going into boot meny by
switching off the system
Press and hold the reset button with a paper clip
Switch on and wait for boot menu.
Problem is no boot menu shows up and same msg keeps displaying.
What could be the problem???
OK.
Managed to do it. The normal method did not work. And the problem was not in USB keys.
Using Rufus and selecting a boot selection of syslinux 6.03 (will only show if you select show advanced drive properties). set others as defaults.
Then using usb recovery tool just to prepare the disk and not format it.
The rest is as described in the link you provided
And thanks for your help.

Try USB Boot Recovery: How do I use the USB Recovery Tool on my ReadyNAS OS 6 storage system?

OK.
I have tried 4 different USB keys (from 1GB to 32 GB) using latest frimware ReadyNASOS-6.9.3-x86_64 for RN314
Only 1GB key gives an indication that it booting from external USB. and remains there (40 minutes and counting).
The others gives the msg for may be 10 seconds then again gives the mount_block_root+1f1 msg.
What can I do next?
