RND2000 Duov2 - OS reinstall - Password
I am now the owner of a ReadyNAS RND2000 Duo v2which gives me some problems. I have tried to boot the unit with only 1 drive inside using the boot description from your homepage using a clip and hold...

That label is misleading. The v2 means "hardware revision 2 of the duo v1". If you have a v2, then the front panel would say duo v2.
The default password on the duo v1 is netgear1 not password.
The boot menu instructions are also different - here's a link to the hardware manual: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RND2110/Duov1_NV+v1_HW_en_06Dec11.pdf The boot menu is described on pages 15-16.

Hello HansPirmo,
The S/N: 24M4197E00657 is for a ReadyNAS duo only not v2 It does appear that you are having somewhat trouble accessing the boot menu of the NAS. If the boot menu is no longer responding with or without the hard drives inserted then we can say that the NAS chassis is faulty and you might need to consider getting a new NAS. Hrere is the guide to access the boot menu of the ReadyNAS Duo only.
Welcome to the community!

Dear Marty_M
Thank you for your reply.
It is a little difficult, as the buttomlabel says:
NETGEAR ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 v2
and the S/N label says:
RND2110-100ISS - TA 100-13393-01R32 - S/N 24M4197E00657
But I do my best (I am a young man at 72 years) and I will try to follow the instructions.
Kind regards

Dear Marty_M
I forgot one thing. I can access the drive 1 (for the time there is no drive 2) and open the contents of it, but I cannot access the menu.
Kind regards

Just to clarify this - with XRAID you only have one volume. You are accessing the volume, using drive 1 only (because of the RAID redundancy).
Moving on, since you are having issues, the next step is to back up the data on the NAS to another device (USB drive or PC internal drive).
The fastest way to do this is over the network. If you can't back it all up, then at least back up the most critical/important data.

I think you are saying that you cannot access Frontview via your web browser. What happens if you enter https://nas-ip-address/admin or https://nas-name/admin (using the real IP address or nas name of course)?
Do you get no response, are you stuck at the log-on pop-up, or is it something else?
