RND2000v2 to what new model can I move the disks?
Have a RedayNAS Duo v2 that broke down, seems to be the Network card part as described by some others here. Did manage to find a used one and moved the disks over and are now up and running again. ...

Thanks for your replies,
well both my old ones the broken down one and the one I purchased used (and not registered on me) are out of warranty of cource. And like a new one with warrenty to feel safer.
So I buy one of the 3 recomended by you with new disks.
Then what is the smartest way to get my data over to the new one?
Your advice is appreciated!

Use the backup job capability on the new NAS. I do this share by share. I use the rsync protocol for this - you'd need to enable that on the duo. But the windows filesharing protocol will also work.
You can also then reverse the source/destination on these backup jobs, and schedule daily backups to the old NAS if you like. You'd want incremental backups, so only changed or new files are copied. With rsync you can also tell the duo to delete any files that were deleted on the new NAS.

Hello HansC,
I'm a little confused with what exactly the model number of the one that works now. Is that ReadyNAS Duo v1 or v2? What's the firmware version? It is easier to identify by checking the firmware version. If it is 5.3.x then that is a v2 which is an ARM based, if it is a 4.1.x that's the old one, v1 which is a Sparc based.

Hi Jenn,
it is a ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 v2
Serial number 24M3017S035A8
Firmware is: RAIDiator 4.1.14 [1.00a043]
And when looking for uppgrades the system tells me this is the latest :(
