RND4000
HI there,
I have a ReadyNAS RND4000.
The simple question I have is: Does this device support SMB 3.0?
I have just upgraded my Mac to Catalina and I cannot connect to this device. It is visible in RAIDar but I cannot connect to it and I cannot therefore configure it.
According to the article (link below) the cause of the failed connection is because Catalina does not support SMB 1.0 or SMB 2.0. Apparently I need to configure it to default to SMB 3.0. Does this device support SMB 3.0?
If so, I could possibly connect via a different machine to the RND4000 and configure it that way. I would need to get an adapter to do so otherwise I would do this right away.
I would appreciate any support.
Thank you,
Felix

No, your NAS does not support SMB2 or SMB3 and Netgear has no plans for an update that will.
You can enable SMB1 on Catalina, which I consider still safe so long as it is restricted to a local network over which you have 100% physical control. Eventually, the choice to re-enable SMB1 may be removed, so you should consider if upgrading to a current NAS that does support SMB3 is your best path forward.
