- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhy do you ask? Has the PSU failed in your NAS?
- WSLamAspirantYes, one died in one of my NV+. I have a backup from years ago and replaced it. But I have quite a few NV+ and I want to get one or two PSU as backup.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen did you purchase the NV+? Is it still under warranty?
Also is the serial in this range?: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=54911 - WSLamAspirantNo it's not under warranty.
So no PSU for sale anywhere? - bmclarenAspirantMy Readynas NV+ just started experiencing problems. I shut it down a week ago, as I prepared to be out of town. When trying to bring it back up today, it wouldn't. The lights above the disk icons and "act" flickered briefly as I pushed the power button, with no other activity. I retried several times, unplugging between tries and found that intermittently I would hear the fan make brief noise then go silent and I'd see the display light up, sometimes blank and sometimes with the "Welcome to Readnas World" message. For both these, it would freeze in this state i.e. screen lit or with message. I tried it several times with the disks removed too. Here, I intermittently got different results. Sometimes just the lights flickered as above but then with other tries it seemed to start up and display a message that it was booting and then finally display a message that no disks were present. For this last case, it was discoverable by RAIDar.
Mine is V1 purchased 8/2007, and within the range of serial numbers with PSU issues. Does this sound like a PSU issue? Are replacement PSU presently available from Netgear or elsewhere in USA? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retiredbmclaren contact tech support and make reference to the Service Action.
- bmclarenAspirantI contacted support. The symptoms for my Readynas apparently did not match the norm for PSU issues as units are usually completely dead. Nevertheless, I received a new PSU unit overnight and it solved my problems!
