RNDP600E Readynas Pro Pioneer Edition - Can't connect to file shares owing to SMB1 protocol
I have been running the Pro Pioneer ReadyNAS very happily on home network for many years. I've upgraded the RAIDiator firmware as it's been released. Currently it is running RAIDiator-x86-4.2.31. ...

Hi projexe
Welcome to the Community!
RAIDiator 4.2 boxes are a bit old if I may say and are not meant to run SMB2 anymore. You may want to consider upgrading your unit to an OS6 device or you can upgrade the unit's firmware to OS6 at your own risk since factory defaulting the unit and doing a full backup of your data is one of the required steps. Also, NETGEAR does not support this upgrade. SMB1 can be re-enabled as well but is definitely not advised.
You may want to take a look at this thread if you want to upgrade to OS6. But still, upgrading to a newer model is much recommended. You can still use your RNDP600E as a backup NAS if you want to.

This LINK maybe less tedious than the 51 pages of the link above
It refers to a Pro 6 but is relevant also to other NAS's

Thank you gentlemen for the information and the link. I've looked through the steps but will obviously complete a full backup before attempting it. However, what is the "ReadyNAS web gui firmware update"? Looking at my admin gui panel nothing seems like an obvious place to select a firmware file.
