Here is a page showing the Seagate model numbers, including Maxtor and Samsung.
There are differences between the two drives.
Unfortunately I don't have a good answer for you. With all the changes in the drive manufacturers (WD buying Hitachi and Seagate buying Samsung) as well as the floods and models discontinued, disrupted and new ones on the market, it is hard for the NAS manufacturers to keep up the HCL. You may have to find an approved 1TB, 1.5TB or 2TB drive. While it will only be recognized in the device as a 750GB (until you replace the other drive with a matching size) you will at least have redundancy back.
This is one reason that most of us buy spares when we buy drives for an NAS. At one time I had three different brands and sizes among the 4 hard drives in my NV+. That is when I started buying spares.
You can try the 525, but if there are problems, technical support will not by sympathetic.
