updated my NV+ with the new software. I did NOT reverse the fans but drive temps are actually UP compared with before. Interestingly my health status states fan speed is 2083RPM (thought it was supposed to be 2100 minimum)
drives temps are 39 on 1/4 and 45 on 2/3. This is about 3 degrees WARMER for the middle drives and warmer than I usually run my hard drives.
Noise is NOT a concern for my system - keeping temps down and reliability is my main concern. This system is in a server closet in my basement so unless it's REALLY loud it won't bother me.
By the way, what exactly does the "recalibrate" option do to the fan?
