- chirpaLuminaryya ya. I need to fix the time on the webserver since DST changed on the weekend.
- StarlionblueAspirantIt's when you write a list like this that you realize just how much stuff is lying around the apartment
- NAS: ReadyNAS NV+ with 4x Seagate 1tb drives (the ones with the bad firmware last year)
- Server: 8-year old Shuttle box running Windows 2003 Server Enterprise with Athlon XP 1200 MHz underclocked to 900MHz (less heat and power). 786 megs ram and 2x 120 gig PATA drives, Intel Gigabit NIC. Planning to upgrade this one next year.

More info and pics. Page needs updating though. http://www.rosboch.net/quietpc.htm - Lee_CarterAspirantThis is a business setup so I'm going to leave some items out.
Rack 1:- Three Dell PowerEdge 2950 Windows 2003 Servers
- Three Dell PowerConnect 2724 switches
- APC UPS with 8 hours of external battery (I've tested it!)
- Pelco DVR
- Small APC UPS for router and modems
- Two Netopia DSL modems
- Cisco RV042 dual router to tie the two modems together
- ReadyNAS Pro with six 1.5TB HDs in Raid 6 configuration and Adaptive Load Balancing (main file server)
Rack 1 is connected to Rack 2 with a 2Gbs fiber optic back haul to another building.
Rack 2:- ReadyNAS Pro with six 1.5TB HDs in Raid 6 configuration and Adaptive Load Balancing (backup)
- Dell PowerConnect 2848 switch
With this setup, I was able to replace a 200GB Snap Server and a tape drive. The tape drive has now been turned off and all my backups are strictly disk based now thanks to rsync. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retired

Sure you don't mean add in a few phony extras (that's a long list)?
I have two ReadyNas NV+, two Mac Minis, an Airport Extreme, a Dynalink RTA1046VW, a APC Smart-UPS 1000XL, a Macbook. One Mac Mini is hooked up to a 42" TV. - Jetlag1GuideI finally got around to fixing up my home rack.
Changes:
* Added a locking steel door
* Added wheels on the bottom
* rack-mounted my switch
* added shelves and a cool anodized steel drawer
* I now have wire management (yay!)
* got rid of the old UPS and now use a SUA1000RM1U (which did not fit in my rack) and is mounted to the wall behind it
* Added an AP9619 to the new UPS
* Epoxyed a hardened steel loop 6" into the concrete floor and cable locked my Pro to it - Lee_CarterAspirant

Lol, no I still had two other buildings with equipment. I'm envious of all these home setups! - klosz007AspirantHello,
That's my setup:
Some text on the picture is in Polish but I am pretty confident you will understand everything :)
ADSL router is going to be replaced with Netgear one (with WiFi N) in some time.
Inside PC there are: Athlon 965 BE, 4GB of RAM, Windows 7 x64. Two 160GB drives (mostly for test/backup) and two "primary" 750GB drives. No RAID. So you see I have quite a lot of diskspace in total (~10TB net)
PC accesories are mostly from Logitech (MX610 mouse, Illuminated keyboard, Wingman Force 3D joystick, Wingman RumblePad gamepad, Driving Force GT steering wheel, S5500 webcam) and some from Creative (2+1 speakers, Aurvana X-Fi Live headphones). Display is Dell's excellent 2209WA.
There's also some home cinema stuff in my setup - 42" Samsung LCD TV, Pioneer DVR and Pioneer receiver, Tannoy 5+1 speakers.
ReadyNAS Duo works both as a file server/print server for my network as well as as a DLNA server for PS3 which I find (except gaming of course) as a very convenient/feature rich multimedia player. Yes, PS3 cannot play MKV's but we have mkv2vob
Iomega box is quite new piece of hardware in my setup, will probably work as a primary filestore in the future.
Cheers,
Andy - Thought I'd post my setup as I finally finished it in Visio...
- wildbull1984AspirantI am happy to say that i purchased a Kingston KVR400X64SC3A/1G RAM, and have had no problems with it on my DUO.
- derek_rAspirantServer rack consisting of:
- rackmount 8-port GigE managed switch
- readynas 1100 - with 4x 2TB (WD2002FYPS) drives - XRAID
- readynas 1100 - with 4x 1TB (WD1002FBYS) drives - XRAID
- readynas 3200 - with 12x 2TB (WD2002FYPS) drives - XRAID2
- custom built 3RU linux process server - runs my UPS monitoring server, http/ftp fileservers, and various databases
- custom built 3RU linux file server with 6x 200GB (WD) drives - hardware raid5 (promise hardware raid card) - now pretty much defunct (hasn't been turned on since i got the readynas 1100 systems)
- APC UPS - SUA1500RM
- monitor, keyboard and kvm switch
Network Rack consisting of:
- rackmount 24-port GigE managed switch
- 24-port rack patch panel (going to various drops in the house - only 22 are in use :)
- custom built mini-ATX PC as my network gateway (dual intel GigE nics)
- Apple Airport Express 802.11n wireless access point
- DLink 802.11b wireless access point
Then random stuff in the network (laptops, PCs, printers, etc.) that use the fore-mentioned items :)
Eventually my server rack will be upgraded with a 2RU tape backup auto-loader, to provide me with some much needed offsite backups.
