The USB ports on the ReadyNAS are primarily intended for backing up the files FROM the ReadyNAS and restoring backups TO the ReadyNAS. You would probably be better served connecting the unit to a PC and copying the files over the Network. The ReadyNAS probably would not recognize the file format on the unit as I doubt it is FAT32, NTSF or EXT2/3.
