ssh tunnel
hi guys,
Here's my situation, on my company network port 22 is blocked, on my remote server ssh is on port 22, could I ssh to my nas on port 443 and tunnel to the remote server? I found this article
http://www.verot.net/socks.htm
I've set 443 to point to the nas but I can't seem to ssh using that port? just seems to hang for ages? I also added port 443 to the ssh config.
Any ideas?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDid you restart the SSH service after changing the configuration file?
- zennitAspirantyes
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredPort 443 is already used for https for accessing Frontview (web-admin page). You'll need to try a different port.
- zennitAspirantCould i set my router to foward external 443 traffic to the nas on another port?
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredSome routers can. That would be ideal solution, to port forward to port 22 on NAS.
What router do you have? - zennitAspirantI'm currently port fowarding 80, 22 and 443 to the nas and thats working, but i'll have to check if i can forward 443 to 22. The router is Huawei HG521
- zennitAspirantworks like a dream :D
- zennitAspirantNow just need to work out how to get the tunnel to the other server working
