Ultra 4 - replacement for 2TB Seagate Barracuda?
My Ultra 4 contains 4x ST32000542AS - 2TB Seagate Barracuda 5900 rpm. SATA 3.0 Gb/s, 32MB cache.
Disk 1 is reporting 3975 reallocated sector count and has been giving warnings in the log about growing count. The disk still shows green status in radiator but in the Frontview logs it shows yellow. The other 3 disks are fine (well, reallocated sector count is 44 for disk 2, 0 for the other 2).
I would like to replace disk1, but it looks like this may be an obsolete model. There's a ST2000DL003 which is 2TB, 5900 RPM, SATA 6.0 Gb/s, 64MB cache.
So - can I replace one disk with a different model? Do I need to match the SATA speed, cache or RPM? Do I really need to replace all 4?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou can replace with a different model. Note if you get the ST2000DL003 you need the disk to have CC3D firmware. Disks with CC3C firmware can be updated but disks with CC32 firmware cannot.
