Ultra-6 Drive Temp Diffs: 10 Degrees F?

On my Ultra-6, drives 1 and 2 are showing 98 and 96 degrees F respectively.

But drives 3-6 are all running at 87 degrees F.

I pulled the side covers but, of course, nothing was evident in the way of blocked air flow.

Cause for concern?

No. All else equal, the upper drives run slightly hotter than the lower drives, and the drives on the left (1 and 4) run slightly hotter than the drives on the right. If your drives 1 and 2 are older, spin faster, or have more errors than the others, one would expect them to run hotter for those reasons, too. The temperature difference you're seeing -- just a few degrees C, across drives that are all running at a very safe temperature under 40 degrees C -- is nothing to worry about at all.
