The OS is stored on the drives. So, when you boot there isn't any OS to boot into.
You need to do a factory default with the Hitachi drives in place. This will install the OS on the drives. This will also wipe any data on the drives so make sure you have the correct drives in place.
Was the Seagate from another ReadyNAS? I'm curious how that one booted.
