Unable to access ReadyNAS NV+ through windows
In recent days I have found myself unable to access my ReadyNAS NV+ V1 using windows. The Raidar application still finds it and I can open Frontview, but apart from that I have no access. I have ...

Your NAS uses SMB 1.0 to host the network shares. Microsoft has begun to deprecate SMB 1.0 (the current version is SMB 3).
Start by going into "turns window features on or off" in Windows, and make sure the SMB 1 client is enabled in the PC.

Many thanks, I'll give that a try in the morning.

ok - I've enabled the SMB 1 client.
From Windows File Explorer, I do not see the NAS listed when I click on Network in the sidebar. Similarly, when I log into my router, I can see a list of devices, with MAC addresses and IP addresses, but none which match the NAS.
However, I was able to type in http://nas in Firefox, and this showed me a backup USB drive which is plugged into the NAS. I hadn't tried this before, so I may have been able to do this previously. It changes the address to https://nas/shares/ and as shown in the attached image.
Thanks
Rennie

Start by accessing https://nas/admin That will let you see the IP address of the NAS. RAIDar can also find it. https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads
Once you know the IP address, enter \\nas-ip-address into the file explorer address bar (ignore the network list in the sidebar for now). Use the actual ip address of course.
Let us know if that lets you access the NAS shares.

Hi StephenB,
Thanks for the help.
I've identified the IP address. When entered into file explorer, it just returns an error - see attached image. //nas entered into file explorer returns the same error. However, if I enter //nas or //ip address into a web browser it returns an image the same as the pdf I shared earlier. It only shows me a USB drive attached to the NAS. Shares on the NAS such as //nas/data or //nas/media/music do not show up.
I think I may have set a fixed IP address for the NAS many years ago - could that be an issue?
