Unable to boot ReadyNas Duo - best recovery option?
So I've had my ReadyNAS Duo for probably 10 years now, crazy to think. It's been rock solid. A couple weeks ago, I went to access my drive and the drive could not connect. I also had issues getting t...

OK, thanks for the confirmation and extra info. I was waiting to see what happens on BF to update this too, so it must have heard it was being replaced. I already did upgrade it to the max 2TB back in 2014, so we are good there. Anyways, I turned it off, pulled disk 2 and powered it up this morning. It's not booting and RAIDar doesn't see it, do I need to put in a blank disk? Drive 2 is flashing on the front.

It does not any longer. I can still ping it.

Ok. Power down and remove disk 1 also (label them so you don't mix them up). Then power up, and see if RAIDar finds it.
If it does, you could then try booting up with only disk 2 in place (in slot 2).

OK, so again this morning the unit was still flashing, pingable and not seen by RAIDar for a solid 24 hours (just with disk 1). Powered down and took out disk 1. Powered up with no disks and it shows in RAIDar with a nonroutable 192.168.168.168 address. Obviously can't ping or get to admin page. Lights still were blinking for about an hour before I proceeded to shut down.
Put in disk 2 in slot 2 and while the unit was booting, I could ping and the activity light was flashing a lot and still not seen with RAIDar. It eventually went to the blue light to be solid, but nothing in RAIDar and no longer pingable.
I'm not sure what that is telling us, but what else can I try?
