Upgrading from 2100 to 2120
Hi I have a client who is wanting to increase the storage on their 2100, they are thinking of upgrading to the 2120 as it has a few extra features that might be useful, easier to go back in time with files etc. Is there an easy way to migrate from the 2100 to 2120? They have an iScsi drive and also some shares on the 2100.
Is it worth it, or would you just keep the 2100 and stick bigger drives in?
Thanks!

- NhellieVirtuosoThe best way to migrate would be a NAS to NAS backup, since they have different operating systems 2100 is x86 and 2120 is arm. You cannot just insert the drives from 1 NAS to another because it might just reformat the drives (unless there is support intervention?) or worse the drives might not be compatible at all. So if you just want to expand the volume, I'd just go with getting bigger drives.
- RXLuminaryAs as I know, ReadyNAS 2100 would support up to 3TB drives of capacity. Just visit this link to check the compatible drives for the ReadyNAS 2100: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20641
Also, if your client really wants to upgrade to a newer NAS model, consider the RN3220 or RN4220 which are both Intel-based ReadyNAS OS 6 Rackmount models. Check it here: http://www.netgear.com/images/pdf/RN322 ... 5Jan14.pdf - and of course, drive compatibility still needs to be considered :D - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat drives do you have in the 2100 currently?
Is there still time left left on the 5 year limited hardware warranty?
What do they use the NAS for? What do you use iSCSI for?
