USB 3 Drive Compatibility - Verbatim
So I have 2 verbatim store and go usb3 drives that I have purchased and having some issues with the unit detecting the drives. I still need to do some more testing but with the other drive but the one I am testing with frontview does not see the drive connected at all. Drive is formatted NTFS via win7 and I am using a readnas pro2 running the latest radiator release, 4.2.21 (I think that is the latest), I know that the disk is going to sleep and I need to figure out how to disable that, but any other suggestions, thanks.

- Not all USB drives are compatible with all ReadyNAS devices. Although formatting the drives NTSF won't keep the Pro2 from recognizing the drives, it will cause slower file transfer speeds than if they were formatted either FAT32 or EXT.
Have you tried all the ports on the Pro2?

The front port will not recognize the drives but either of the back ports will, so much for USB3 speeds, I will probably go another route next time that offers esata since that will be much faster, It works now but usb transfers on the readynas is just too slooow...yeah I understand about the ntfs vs ext3, I'm a linux guy but most small businesses that I deal with are running windoz, oh well...thanks for the response.
