using readyNAS in limited internet access environment
I need to deploy some sort of NAS or other file server to an office that has very limited internet connectivity (.5mbs, unstable. located outside the US)
the NAS needs to fill two basic needs. First, it needs to be local storage for the office (workstation backups, shared files, etc) just normal NAS stuff.
Second, it needs to act as a holding spot for files that need to be slowly uploaded through said slow connection for access by people in other offices (which have reasonable connections) readyNAS offers lots of options that will fill this need (readyDrop, readyCloud, dropbox, replicate, vault, etc).
But, here is the question. Is there a way for me to limit the hours of the day that the readyNAS will perform functions which require the internet connection. For example, say i decide to sync to drobox. Can i set it up so that it will only sync between 6pm - 7am and pause the rest of the day? I have to not saturate my internet connection during business hours so that it is available for normal use.
Any thoughts on how i can accomplish this using readyNAS or some other solution?
Thanks

It's probably easiest to have your router control that. Most routers have scheduling options (often called something like "Parental Control" in consumer routers) to limit individual devices' access to the internet by time of day or day of the week. - poolhouseblackAspirantthanks fastfwd.
ill look into that option. it does makes sense.
i relize this will be asking for speculation, but will the NAS continue to try to sync until he connection is available? I dont want it to try for 2 hours then give up and somebody has to go tell it to try again at the end of the day. - fastfwdVirtuoso

I don't know how the Netgear services work (or don't work -- see the numerous threads here complaining about them), but I'd be surprised if they gave up and had to be manually restarted. The other services -- Dropbox, BTSync, etc. -- definitely won't give up.
