Volume Limitation on 2100?

I'm considering getting a 2100 to store our VMware VDR backups (basically backups of virtual machines over CIFS or NFS) but before I do I was wondering if there was a volume limitation (as in the number of volumes I can create).

I need to create 400 GB volumes (as many as the 2100 will store after RAID 5).

  • there are 2 volumes per drive.

    so you can create
    2x raid 5, 4 disks
8x raid 0, individual disks (no redundancy)
    4x raid 1, 2 pair disks (mirrored)

and so on, in whatever combination you want as limited by 2 volumes per disk

I don't think there is a limit to number of iscsi targets, so if you need a dozen 400g volumes, you might consider iscsi if its appropriate.
