I tried several utilities and found over the course of using the WD20EADS about a year or so that I'd have failures or errors on at least one drive every month or so. I upgraded to the Ultra 4+ and had more failures and finally got Seagate Caviar Black drives 2 years ago and never had another issue since. A friend had similar problems with the WD20EADS on a Synology device I believe. The extra cost of the drives more than offset the lost time trying to keep the WD's stable, not to mention the peace of mind.
