WD sent a non-HCL replacement for my dead WD20EARS
Hey forum. One of my 3 2TB WD Green (WD20EARS) disks failed and I RMA'd it. I know the EARS models are obsolete in favor of the EARX models. However, WD sent me a 3TB WD30EZRX in place of my dead 2TB....

Usually vendors will work with you on the RMA process if you tell them that the replacement drive is not compatible. So one option is to get back to Western Digital support.
Or, use the 3 TB drive somewhere else and buy a WD20EFRX (Red) drive.
